step one: Draft a pattern for your blanket
It is helpful to imagine how you want your blanket to look before starting. Making a template is an easy way to come up with exactly what you want to make. Once your template is done, it is a helpful tool to keep you on track as you are constructing your blanket. It's like following a recipe.
step two: cut out fleece rectangles
You'll need to cut your fabric into 14" by 10" rectangles. It helps to have a rotary cutter for this part, but a sharp pair of scissors works fine too.
STEP THREE: CUT SLITS IN THE RECTANGular panels
These cuts will create fringes for us to tie together so that our rectangular panels can become a blanket. A helpful tool to make cutting go by faster it so make a template. Using printer paper or cardboard, you can make a guide for your cuts so that each panel has matching cuts.
step four: remove the corners of the rectangle
step five: tie panel together by rows IN YOUR PATTERN
STEP SIX: CONNECT THE ROWS ALONG THE REMAINING CUT SIDES
Finish up your blanket by tying the remaining loose edges to one another. Once you've completed this step, you can snuggle up inside your new blanket!
